We had heard much about the fossil beds, just east of Smithers so we decided to drive out. It was a bit rainy but when we got there it was good enough for the walk to the cliffs.
Ian and I made it up the hill toward the cliff side.
Steep stuff indeed.
The fossils are embedded in the thin layers of sedimentary rock.
The Parks Canada signs of course do their thing about describing the millions of years history behind the story of laying down these rocks. They have never heard of Catastrophy Theory or, more like, they don't want to refer to it.
