The weather is changing. While we were gone for the week a slow melt reduced the amount of snow on our roof. This week the baring of roofs and roads continued. The fields and hills are starting to show patches of soil and grass. Day temperatures can be around 8. The night frost still slows the whole process down. There is, of course, quite an amount of snow to melt off. While it is easier to get to the woodpile we are using the woodstove less.

It took a bit to get back into a work routine. Ian was good with it quite quickly, Wilma and I took a little longer.

Wilma had made up her mind that after our Spring break she would tackle the kitchen colours. She did.
First she painted the ceiling. Now that looks like new.
Then she got rid of all the blue on the walls. A light ... for three walls and ... for the outside walls. These colours are much more like us and it makes the place feel more like home. Every bit helps and the process goes on. Tomorrow we are going to take it easy.

kitchen looks great! are you going to paint the cabinets and/or replace the chandelier?
Mom said green, but that's kinda khaki-ish I think. A big improvement!
That was quick work, too!
Spring has definitely sprung here...I think I might head into the garden tomorrow (if the sun is shining). Pull up some dead stuff and get things ready for new flowers, and maybe maybe veggies. It's been a "few" years since I attempted those!
Have a great week!
Yes,the cabinets and the chandelier will go ... in due time.
When we can enlarge the kitchen we will get new cabinets along the one side and a large island in the middle (uncle Gerald's idea).
My next blog will tell you what kind of start we made on this already in regards to appliances.
Veggies! Cool. This is a good time. But you did tomatoes last year, those are veggies ... technically.
