Spring time brings visitors. We were delighted to have Amy with us for a while around Victoria Day. It was great to spend time together, to catch up and do some walking and hiking. We think it was a relaxing time for Amy after a period of hard work and planning.
Amy arrived some time before the weekend. We were pretty busy then but the Saturday through Monday gave excellent opportunity for some time out.
On Victoria day we did the hike up to Malkow Lookout. It is not a very long, about 1 1/2 hour. It gets you to a hilltop that overlooks a good part of the Bulkley Valley. We were blessed with good weather and a chance to search for a hidden geocache. Our GPS lead us to it within a meter. Then Ian spotted it, hidden under a tree and some bushes. We put in a travelbug that we had found in Steveston. If you want to know where that came from and where it is traveling check it out here. We also passed a spot where some people dressed up a tree with Christmas ornaments etc. No presents at the base though.
After Amy left we were all extremely busy with work. Ian's afternoons and evenings are take with either caretaker work, jazz band, homework or soccer. At school I'm working on plans for courses and staffing next year. Wilma has done another series of report cards. She also planted veggies in the greenhouse. It can get mighty hot in there on an afternoon.
Dad and Mom arrived Thursday night. It was quite rainy and cool then but things cleared up after that. Today was a fantastically beautiful Sunday. We did some walks and played games. Ian will get me to throw the frizbee regularly but today we were busy with Bocce Ball and, of course, a number of card games. All the while Mom and Wilma will play scrabble.
The garage building story is getting dragged out. I have trusses, timber work, doors and windows, and roofing lined up but there is no action yet to get a gravel brought in and a concrete pad poored. We hope to see change to that real soon.
We have three more weeks of regular classes left, then exams and graduation activities.
Time flies.
