The first week of the summer break flew by with lots of work and activity. On Monday I was in school all day. I should have been back there for a number more days during the week but building activities took over.
On Tuesday some of my colleagues came to help with the roofing. They got most of it done in two days.
Tim, Mike, and James arrived on Wednesday night. Thursday morning we got the roofing done by 11:00. From there on it was all siding. By late Saturday afternoon three walls were finished and all siding pieces cut for the front. A very impressive achievement.
The photos give good indication of the progress. We are pretty happy with the looks of the building.
Wilma has finished nearly all her report cards. She really enjoyed taking care on a 'crowd of guys' for a few days. Her greenhouse plans are growing at phenomenal rate and the outside ones aren't doing badly either. We've already had a good crop of rhubarb - amazing deep red stuff. The first cherry tomatoes will be ready pretty soon.
Ian had a great time with his brother. On Saturday night they went for a round of golf. They played for about three hours till dark at about 10:30 It was really nice having the boys here for a while. It changes the pace and activities at home and Ian sure likes the company.
The river water level is falling slowly and the water is clearing up. Pretty soon people will be fishing. Maybe we'll get a chance to join in.
