It's been some week; good and beautiful, but very busy.
Ian has started his after-school job working with the school custodian. He has been busy with his volleyball practices and games, as well as his first venture into playing the bass guitar.
The dog has learned to walk free off the chain and stay around the house. He likes it best when he can sit down on the green garden bench beside Ian.
Wilma has kept her routine with her students and parents. She injoys the work and things are going well for her.
We got possession of our home as of Sept 30. It is mostly empty right now while we take time to do some work on it. Wilma has started to take off lots of old moldings and baseboards in order to start the process of wallpaper removal.
I have been removing beaten up wainscoting from the entrance hall with the hope of redoing the walls so that Wilma can paint. No picture of that yet in the attached gallery.
We hope to get more time this week to continue some renovation and gradually move stuff to the house.
The fall colours are truly spectacular. There native trees are a bright yellow and orange with reds in the low bushes. Our school staff was on a two day retreat Thursday and Friday at a lake near Houston. It was a good time of learning, fellowship and fun in a breathtakingly beautiful, scenic setting. I even got some art work done. It was great to just sit and draw, start a watercolour and in the mean time chat with colleagues and friends.
What a blessing to be at a place of beauty and peace and find good relationship and activities. [Photo]
Saturday night we had a great visit with John and Betty Siebenga in Houston. We walked the town and neighbourhood and we made our first Geocash find. The combination of natural beauty, good company and Betty's fantastic dinner made for a most enjoyable time of fellowship.

great photos... it's a beautiful property! The house looks good too -- I'm sure it'll look wonderful with a new coat of paint and some renos here and there!
