I was in the Fraser Valley for the CTABC Teachers' Convention of October 9 & 10. It was great to meet with colleagues and friends and family. Amy, Tim and I had opportunity to go out for coffee one evening and I had a chance to see how they are situated at the Scholtens' and Hollaars. It is very gratifying to know that they are happy and well taken care of.
Wilma and Ian flew in on Friday the 10th. We stayed over at Mary's place. That was very nice indeed, an opportunity to visit like we had not had for a long time. On Friday night we went out for dinner together at the Murrayville Ricky's. It was another event that had a traditional feeling to it ... server Scott was even there to really make it seem like old times.
Thanksgiving dinner at Grandpa and Grandma's on October 11th turned out like many of the last years' pear picking and walnut picking events; a great time of family fellowship, of working and sharing together. These are family highlights that we will all remember for a long time.
On Monday afternoon we flew back again . It was a dreary day in Vancouver but sunny in Smithers. Not a bad encouragement to help us experience it as a trip back home.
