A New truck and another move - October 25

I got an email from Tim that said:

"yo, dad. hook me up with some pics of your truck. i wanna see it. thanks"

True :-)

So, here it goes then. 

One of the owners of the Smithers Chrysler dealership is on the BVCS school board. He located a good used pick up for us in the Lower Mainland and brought it up. We were glad to have the use of it during this month for the purpose of moving. For a while we would load up stuff and take it to the new house on Kidd Road whenever we would go there to do painting etc.

Then, on Friday afternoon and evening a number of colleagues and friends helped us with the main moving events. The owner of Smithers feedstore let us use his cubevan for hauling all the big stuff. There was a bit of rain off and on so it was great to have beds, freezer, furniture, etc. under cover.

It was amazing how quickly and efficiently everything got packed and loaded and unloaded and distributed. 

At that point the camera was packed somewhere I could not remember so I ender up making a few photos with my cell phone - terrible quality of course.

By eight in the evening we were all sitting in our livingroom eating pizza. All the stuff was in but all over the place.

The following days were a matter of going back and forth to finish getting the last pieces. We found out how great it is to have pickup that can handle all that. 

Wilma had some help with the final clean-up of the rental place. With that we could close that chapter. 

We'll have to have a house warming party pretty soon to thank everyone for their help. I hear Kristen has great ideas on how to organize those parties. She gave me permission to use one them. 

I think November 11 might be a good day. Remembrance day ... very appropriate to celebrate new beginnings.

Ian would agree. He got his chance to ride the lawnmower. (So Tim, he beat you to it.) The point was to blow all the leaves on the lawns into manageable heaps for raking up. That kept him and Mom busy for quite a long time while I went to town to shop for a wood stove. 

Yes, every one warns that snowfall in immanent so we better be prepared.

We are very thankful that we got the moving done before the weather changes.
