Amy tells me she is suffering from family withdrawal and needs to hear some news from home.
I've been slow to update this blog because so much has been happening. Funny how you have the least time when the daylight hours are longest.
Rather than giving you many words I'll pass on more photos.
Jerry and Nelly Scholtens stayed with us for a bit. We had a great hike up to Crater Lake with them.
Pa, George and Els arrived safely during the first week of July. Judith & Jonathan and Amy followed shortly after. We had a wonderful time together. Amy could stay for a few days, Judith and Jonathan had to go back home after a week. The Dutch family had the three weeks + to enjoy the north. Unfortunately Pa's and George' difficulty with mobility limited our options so we choose to do trips that did not involve a lot of walking.
Judith, Jonathan, Ian and I went up to Crater Lake with the aim to get higher up and catch some good views of the Bulkley Valley. After a stretch of rock on a long hillside we were rewarded.
We spent 2 days in Prince Rupert (North West Coast). It was great experiencing some rainforest and coast line scenery again. We did a tour of the first cannery of the area.
Jonathan, Ian and I took a day to go up the 'dome' with the dirt bike and the quad. It was a fun, rough ride. The top was cold and windy but amazing for views and scenery.
Together we travelled to Steward (BC) and Hyder (Alaska) to see the the Bear Glacier and the grizzlies in Salmon Creek. We went to the boardwalk along the river twice and were rewarded the second time with a great spectacle of a grizzly catching salmon.
We were told about a peak where you can drive to the top with a 4x4 vehicle so we decided to try it. Thea Ewald joined us with her Jeep. It was a bit of a distance to get to the base of 'the microwave' first and than a rough gravel and bolder ride along a narrow and winding trail.
Quite a unique experience that we all enjoyed tremendously, in spite of the few steep cliffs and hairy turns.
A few days before the Dutch relatives went back home we had a chance to tour the local sawmill. It is quite an operation and Pa really enjoyed seeing the production process from raw logs to finished lumber.
After the relatives left, both Wilma and I went to our school work with a vengeance. There is so much to prepare. Staff meetings are starting Monday morning. Wilma and Ian went to the Smithers Fall Fair yesterday. It is quite an event, a small scale cross of the Vancouver PNE and the Calgary Rodeo. Ian had some of his buddies with him and enjoyed a great day.
Kristen returned from her tour of France with some amazing photos and memories.
Judith and Jonathan are back on their place in the Kelowna community.
Amy has moved into her new home in Bayville, NewYork. We are excite for her that things have gone well so far and hope to hear and see lots of good things from the East coast.
Tim is set to move into his new digs in Burnaby, close to BCIT.
Ian insists that he is not eager about going back to school but he really wants to go school shopping today.
Great changes and developments, each with their own challenges and blessings.
The steady factor in it all is our God's consistent and limitless love.
Now we are looking for a quiet weekend. Hope you all have a blessed Sunday.

That's quite the one month summary! It sounds like you're pretty happy with all of the summer adventures. The ones that we had were pretty great! Love the bear pics. Too bad we didn't get the sheep!
We're getting ready to go camping this Friday, for our last hurrah of summer. And *collective gasp* we're taking bicycles. I know! Except I don't own a helmet....yet =)
