Now I'm two weeks over due with a blog update. Last week I had the photos ready but no time to write.
So here it goes after all.
The photos take you on a ride with Ian and me on our daily trip to school and back home. Note that the difference is the light. We didn't, of course, make photos at 7:40 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. because it is mostly dark then. You see Wilma setting up the Christmas tree. Iy is all decked out and ready for surprises now. And then there are some photos of play time. Ian insists that I pull him around in the snow at regular times. He got himself a snow saucer that pulls behind the ATV and rides like a surf board. He regularly ends up with a face plant in a snowbank but he comes back for more.
Life has been full with volleyball tournament games, report card writing, meetings and just regular life. Now that Ian's volleyball season is over and both my and Wilma's report cards are done we have some opportunity to take stock. Last week Saturday I started on a living room bookshelf. On Thursday we had a chance to mount it. That required all three of us because it is a 16 foot long piece. Yesterday we stocked it with books. On Saturday I also followed up on that plan to make changes in the 'mudroom'. We need room there for clothes racks. The freezer was moved out to the garage in the Fall leaving some room for the coat hooks and bench to move to the other side of the room.The coming week is going to be full of evening meetings again, a number of school activities such as 'winter olympic games' and a last day closing assembly. We can tell on the students and teachers that the Christmas holiday will be a welcome break.
We are looking forward to opportunities to sleep a little longer in the morning and spend time with family. In preparation Ian started to clear part of the pond, just to see if it would be worth our while to clean off all the snow and make a good skating rink. We'll see how that goes. We have had some very cold days (-20) but things are much easier now. When it warms up there is more chance of snow. That's okay too. We are prepared. The wood stove keeps throwing out heat and the garage / workshop does a fantastic job keeping the vehicles frost free.We feel blessed with the beauty of our surroundings and confirmed in the blessings of work and family.

The pictures are gorgeous, especially the mountains! I can't wait to see it all in person. It's good to see that the family name sign has gone up, too :)
Loving the sign! It looks so cozy with the tree all set up, and the bookshelves are great! I wonder how shelves like that would look in my living room? :)
