Spring Break
Photos

Posting this blog marks the end of our spring break.
We had a wonderful two weeks of travel, family time, spring weather, and time to rest and to do work around the house.
Amazing what can be experienced in two weeks. It seems like a long time ago that school closed and we drove off to Kelowna.

It was wonderful to spend time with Judith and Jonathan and enjoy little Ella for just a few days. She is such a cute little girl who warms your heart with every smile.

Jonathan, Ian and I went out on the snowmobiles for a morning. Actually, I spent more time in a cabin to do some painting.

All of the trip we had excellent weather. The drive to Langley was great and Mary again graciously hosted us. It was good to catch up with various friends and family in the area and have dinner with Amy & Tim. The weekend at Mom & Dad's in Chilliwack was relaxing and sociable.

In a sense time stands still when we can get together with family as we have done it so many times before. We pick up conversations as if we have not been apart for long. There is a rootedness and stability about this that we really treasure, one that we too easily take for granted, I think. Finding each other in good health and comfort and having wholesome relationships that last, is a rare gift. Many people sorely miss this and we realize that, with the passing of time, it will not all be the same for us either. We are thankful to God for the good times He provides and trust Him for the blessings and challenges that He brings in each of our lives.

Coming home from our road trip we were amazed to see how much snow had already melted. Our driveway and the hill side facing the sun were clear. In the week since returning a lot more snow has cleared. With sunny days that are reasonably warm and few nights of frost it really feels like Spring. So much so that I even got some branchpile burning done on Saturday.

Wilma got to work painting her office. She was through with the pink on the walls and replaced it with 'summer sued'. Pretty classy. I build her some shelves and we moved around some other furniture. Now she had a pretty swank office.

Tomorrow morning we are back to work. It will be a busy term all the way to the end of June.
