End of the summer - start of another adventure.

- photos -

Today is Sunday August 21. Last week we achieved much. Wilma did a lot of work prepping for the coming school year. She wanted to have stuff ready to go out to parents before we leave for our last trip of the summer. She repainted both of our outside doors and processed a lot of raspberries for juices and jelly.

Ian kept up his Thursday job of apartment yard maintenance. He also helped friends with haying, sometimes till 11:00at night. The farmers had quite a difficult time getting hay done and brought in without having rain do damage to the quality. And he helped me with the house, especially with putting up the siding. On Thursday and Friday Ian went fishing with friends and came home with four large Sockeye. :-)

The driveway side of the house is mostly finished. I'm really pleased with the improved look of the house and the practicality of the covered area.

Tomorrow morning we are off on our round trip Smithers - Langley - Edmonton - Smithers. Amy is moving to Edmonton to continue her BEd studies at Kings. This is a good opportunity for us to help her move and settle in there. Now she will still have a bit of the 'moving out experience' that she missed three years ago when we moved out on her. Tim and James are coming along on the trip to get a bit of a break themselves. I hear that neither they nor Amy have seen the Ice Fields, Moraine Lake, and the spectacular road between Banff and Jasper. Its about time that we introduce them to the beauties of the Canadian Rockies, probably some of the most extraordinary places in Canada. I expect that we will be awed once again by the amazing things our Creator God has done. Psalm 98:
4Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5make music to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
7Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
8Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
9let them sing before the LORD,
for he comes to judge the earth.
